Ah, Sega Genesis. The first, and oldest of our Console Cabinets. This cabinet has been to Midwest Gaming Classic twice, It's been to Pixel Blast Arcade, its been to Yetee Station, it'll probably be the first cabinet on the moon. As a result of its many travels and it's many hours of use at some of the beloved arcades here in Chicagoland, it's starting to show its age. So as we go through and prepare each of our cabinets for their next appearance, one thing that needed to be done is replacing the side art on the Sega Genesis cabinet. So what do we need to prepare the cabinets for? You'll just have to wait and see.

Tuesday Trade-In 2/11/2020 @Pixel Blast Arcade!

Greetings gamers! For those who missed the Tuesday Trade-in, we've got two new games on the floor at Pixel Blast Arcade in the Arcade816 Console Cabinets.
First up, Medieval Mayhem! Released in 2006 into the homebrew community for Atari 2600! It's essentially a clone of Warlords, with a lot of the arcade features put back in, plus a lot more improvements. You use the Paddle controller to control a shield and defend your castle from bouncing fireballs. If the castle falls, and your king is hit, it's game over for you. The game starts by presenting you with an options screen, which you can use to select number of players, speed and number of fireballs (up to 3), whether or not you can catch and release fireballs (or just bounce and defend), and how many wins to victory. Then a dragon flies out and spits out the initial fireball to a random player. Each time a king is defeated, an additional fireball enters play. A lot of improvements over 2600 Warlords including stereo sound! It also supports 4 players like the original, so we have an extra couple of Paddle controllers attached to the cabinet so a third or fourth player can enjoy together!

Greetings gamers, quick update.
All 816 Console Cabinet design and artwork is complete! We've designed 8 total cabinets in two styles that we hope to have completed and ready for play at Midwest Gaming Classic. Jeremy Fox at Prince Arcades is building our "K" style cabinets now, Team816 Olaf is putting the final touches on our "N" style prototype, and Team816 Jason is knee deep in code, designing our autofire circuit! Today we're hard at work doing console mods: RGB output and external reset dongles. We're all very excited to blow minds next year. Stay frosty, see you very soon!
